Welcome to pippasobituary.com, all about the Pippa doll |
about Pippa dolls
Pippa was a doll manufactured by Palitoy, a UK company, from 1972-1980. She was billed as the 'pocket sized fashion doll', standing at 180mm.
Pippa was not on her own, she also had a few groovy friends to keep her company on her adventure through the 1970s. Pippa had a wardrobe of a couple of hundred or so outfits, as well as furniture, apartments, horses, cars, etc.
about this site
February 2006 – I haven't updated for a while as I've stopped collecting Pippa dolls. After all these years it was time to move on, and I've now started collecting
Asian Ball Jointed Dolls (they're rather bigger than Pippa!). I must admit I do feel like a bit of a Pippa traitor, but I'm having fun with my new dolls.
BJDs are customisable dolls made of resin and there are several different companies making them in Japan and Korea. Find out more about them
at Gigglegeek (most of the dolls are listed here) and Den of Angels (a BJD website and forum).
I will be leaving pippasobituary here for the forseeable future, and I will still check my email on occasion of you have any questions.
