The story breaks on Pippa's wedding • 1979

As many people know, Pippa's wedding didn't go according to plan. There has been some speculation, and general gossip often mentions the name of high profile American doll Van. Sensible people realised that this was a cynical attempt by Van to claw back some of the limelight after his career went down the tubes. Some say Van bats for the other side, anyway.

Pippa still doesn't like to talk about it, the paper doll book was only released due to contractual obligations. Palitoy made some concessions in that Pete's name is never mentioned and the story ends just before it all went wrong.
