A few Pippa dolls were released with this fairer hair. This particular colouring often reacts with the skin tone, making it a bit paler. It can also lead to green patches, especially on the nose. Another effect of the pale hair colour is that it tends to oxidise, resulting in the hair going frizzy at the ends.
Fair haired Pippa first appeared in 1979 as her 4th Issue, she also was available as a fair haired Princess Pippa and as Gala Occasion Pippa. The latter has eyes that always seem to look sideways. It is also likely that fair Pippas with few hairplugs in the scalp (a kind of Mohican effect) are Gala Occasion dolls. Maybe to accommodate the large hat she came with. These dolls are very rare in good condition.
